Display Name – Shown in the community when you post reflections.
Profile Picture (optional) – Displayed on your profile and next to your posts.
Password – Securely encrypted (hashed) for your protection.

B. Usage & Analytics Data

To improve the App and highlight meaningful content, we collect:

Listening Activity – Which sermons or meditation tracks you play, how long you listen, and completion status.
Device Hash – A unique anonymous identifier generated from your device to prevent play-count abuse and estimate unique listeners. This is not connected to your name or email in analytics logs.
Community Interactions – Likes, reflections, and comments you post.

This data is used in aggregate form to show trending content and improve features.

C. Device Permissions

The App may request permission to access:

Photos/Storage – To upload profile pictures or download content for offline use.
Microphone (if applicable) – For recording personal voice notes.
Notifications – To alert you about new sermons or replies.
Internet/Network – To stream and sync content.

You can manage these permissions in your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

Create and manage your account
Deliver audio and community features
Recommend trending or popular content
Send password resets and important updates
Notify you about replies or moderation actions
Prevent spam and protect the community
Improve app performance and stability

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Data Storage & Retention

Server Storage: Your data is stored securely on our WordPress servers at niwandakimumonastery.lk.
Account Data: Stored while your account remains active.
Playback Logs: Automatically deleted after 180 days.
Local App Storage: The App stores some data on your device for offline access and preferences. You can clear this by uninstalling the App or clearing app data.

We regularly clean unused legacy data to maintain database hygiene.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to support the App:

Firebase (Google) – For authentication, push notifications (FCM), and crash monitoring (Crashlytics).
Google Analytics (via Firebase) – For anonymous usage insights.

These services operate under their own privacy policies.

5. Security

We take security seriously and use:

HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
Hashed (encrypted) passwords
Secure moderation tokens for admin actions

While we use strong safeguards, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years old.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If such data is identified, we will remove it promptly.

7. Your Rights & Choices

You have control over your data:

Update Profile – Change your Display Name or Profile Picture anytime in the App.
Post Anonymously – Choose “Anonymous” when posting reflections (admins can still view authors for safety reasons).
Delete Your Account – Contact us to request deletion of your account and associated data.
Manage Notifications – Adjust preferences within App settings.
